Staff Biography

Dr. Abraham has over twenty-five years of experience in secondary technology, business, vocational, and higher education. Her experiences span public school and university teaching as well as managing within a business-related environment. Having authored numerous curricula and other publications, Dr. Abraham has been a leader in professional development efforts allowing teachers, administrators, and other local, site-based personnel to clearly understand curriculum frameworks, teaching strategies, and structures. Positive progress has been made integrating technology into learning environments as a result of her untiring and dedicated accomplishments. She is recognized as a leader in charting the course for educational improvements in Mississippi, especially in the arena of the prudent, practical, and professional use of various forms of technology for enhancement of learning. In her present role as Director for the RCU, Dr. Abraham works closely with our sponsor, the Mississippi Department of Education Office of Vocational Education & Workforce Development to research and develop initiatives in workforce development and current accountability issues such as standards-based curricula, assessments, and professional development with the goal of improving student achievement. Prior to coming to the RCU, Dr. Abraham was a Professor in the Department of Technology and Education at Mississippi State University.
